Mohamed Salah Receives Six-Month Driving Ban for Speeding Incident

Mohamed Salah has been handed a six‑month driving ban and a fine after failing to identify the driver of his luxury electric Rolls-Royce, a "Spectre" worth more than €466,000, which was caught speeding in March 2026.

Warrington Magistrates' Court in Cheshire convicted the Trabzonspor forward in his absence after he did not respond to police requests to say who had been behind the wheel when a mobile speed camera recorded the offence.

According to The Sun, the 34-year-old Egyptian never supplied the name of the driver, which led to a charge of failing to identify the person responsible. Magistrates ruled on the case in August 2026, suspending Salah's licence for six months and imposing a €769 fine.

The court had twice summoned Salah to appear, with both notices sent to his mansion reportedly valued at more than €5 million. He did not attend, and the bench proceeded without him, reaching a verdict based solely on the evidence available.

It is not the first time Salah has faced scrutiny over his driving. In 2022, police caught him speeding in a "Ferrari F8 Tributo", an incident that resulted in a fine and three penalty points on his licence. Four years earlier, in 2018, he was filmed using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield.

For one of the modern game’s most recognisable forwards, the pattern on the road now threatens to become as notable as his work in the penalty area.
