Djed Spence Set for Inter Debut After International Break

Djed Spence is finally nearing his first appearance in an Inter shirt. The wait looks set to end once Serie A returns in October.

The English right-back, signed from Tottenham in the summer for €35 million, has yet to play a competitive minute for the Nerazzurri. Fitness problems after a draining World Cup campaign with England kept him out of Cristian Chivu’s plans at the start of the season.

Inter moved for Spence as a long-term piece on the flank, but instead of joining full sessions immediately, the 26-year-old has been working on a separate programme, focused on rebuilding his match sharpness. The club have handled him carefully, intent on avoiding any early setbacks.

According to Gazzetta, that individual work is now entering its final phase. Spence will continue to train away from the main group this week, then is expected to rejoin full team training next week as the league pauses for international fixtures.

Chivu has granted his squad a full week off, with group sessions for those not on national team duty scheduled to resume on Monday. By then, Spence should be back in the mix, competing for his place and pushing toward selection.

The target is clear: the first game after the break. Inter host Parma at San Siro on October 10, and Spence is expected to be available for the matchday squad.

A big fee, a big stage, and a fanbase still waiting to see him in Nerazzurri colours when it really counts. October 10 now looms as his first real chance to start paying that faith back.
