Crystal Palace Sign Defender Axel Disasi on Loan from Chelsea
Crystal Palace have moved to strengthen their back line with the loan signing of defender Axel Disasi from Chelsea, the Premier League club confirmed on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old arrives at Selhurst Park after a stop-start spell at Stamford Bridge, where he made 61 appearances following his move from Monaco in 2023. Chelsea have reshaped their squad again this summer, and Disasi becomes the latest high-profile name to seek minutes elsewhere.
He already knows his way around London. Last season, the France international spent time on loan at West Ham United, featuring 14 times in the Premier League and adding another dose of English top-flight experience to his résumé.
"I'm very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going," Disasi said in a statement, underlining the appeal of Palace’s recent progress.
Disasi’s pedigree is clear. He was part of the France squad that reached the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, training and competing alongside some of the game’s elite on the biggest stage.
Now he drops into a Palace side that has quietly evolved over recent seasons. If he settles quickly, this could be one of the more shrewd defensive moves of the Premier League window.
