San Diego FC Signs Veteran Striker Cedric to Boost Attack

San Diego FC have moved to add serious weight to their attack, unveiling veteran Congolese striker Cedric in an official club announcement.

Sporting director Tyler Heaps did not hold back in his assessment of the new arrival.

“Cedric brings an incredible level of experience and proven quality to San Diego FC,” Heaps said, framing the deal as a statement of intent from the expansion side. “He has built an outstanding career competing at the highest levels in Europe and internationally, and his ability to consistently find the back of the net has been a defining part of his game. He understands what it takes to perform on the biggest stages and brings a winning mentality that will be extremely valuable to our group.”

The message was clear: this is a forward signed to lead, not just to fill out a squad list.

Cedric’s résumé backs up the excitement. Since breaking through at Sochaux, the DR Congo international has piled up 191 goals and 49 assists in 492 club appearances, a body of work built across some of Europe’s more demanding environments. His journey has taken him from Villarreal to Marseille, then on to Olympiacos and Galatasaray, with goals following him at every stop.

On the international stage, his record remains just as strong. For DR Congo, Cedric has struck 21 times in 72 caps and featured in four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, giving him a depth of big-game experience that few newcomers to San Diego’s dressing room can match.

His arrival now drops a proven finisher into an already intriguing frontline. San Diego FC can now call on Cedric alongside Anders Dreyer, Marcus Ingvartsen, and fellow 2026 World Cup forward Elias Achouri — a blend of profiles that suddenly looks capable of troubling any defence they face.
