Richarlison's Tottenham Future in Jeopardy Amid Trabzonspor Talks

Richarlison’s Tottenham future is hanging by a thread, with a proposed move to Trabzonspor stalling at the sharp end of the Turkish window.

The Super Lig side tested Spurs’ resolve with an opening offer of around €20 million (£17m) late in the window, only to be firmly rebuffed. Tottenham want closer to £35m. That gap has left the Brazilian’s camp increasingly gloomy about finding a breakthrough before the Turkish deadline slams shut at 23:59 on September 4.

Salah and Fabinho join the push

The tug-of-war has drawn some heavyweight names into the background. According to ESPN Brazil, Mohamed Salah and Richarlison’s former Brazil team-mate Fabinho have both contacted the forward directly, urging him to embrace a fresh start in Turkey.

Richarlison is keen to go. He has spoken publicly about taking control of his own future and believes his career needs a reset away from north London. Behind the scenes, though, relations with the Tottenham hierarchy have frayed badly. The board’s hardline stance on his valuation has only deepened his frustration and sharpened the sense of a relationship heading for an ugly end.

De Zerbi shuts the door

On the pitch, the break is already brutally clear. Roberto De Zerbi has left Richarlison out of Tottenham’s Premier League squad, a ruthless call that followed a failed move to Everton earlier in the window. The Italian has made his position plain: Richarlison is not part of his plans for this season.

The forward has been sent to train with the under-21s, effectively exiled from the first-team environment. For a Brazil international in his prime, it is a stark comedown and a warning of what awaits if no move materialises.

If talks with Trabzonspor collapse, Richarlison will be forced to look elsewhere in the remaining open markets, with Saudi Arabia among the realistic options. If that route does not open up either, he faces the prospect of months without competitive football until the January window offers another escape route.

Trabzonspor know the stakes. To drag Richarlison out of his stand-off with Spurs, they must move quickly and decisively, and crucially, closer to that £35m asking price before the clock ticks down on September 4.
