Pedro Neto Attracts Premier League Interest as Manchester City Circles

Pedro Neto’s future at Chelsea is suddenly wide open – and the queue for his signature is already forming.

Four Premier League clubs have registered interest in the 26-year-old winger, with Manchester City among the sides tracking the Portugal international. He is not viewed as one of Chelsea’s “untouchable” assets at Stamford Bridge, leaving the door open to a move before the transfer deadline.

That does not mean he will come cheap. Far from it.

Chelsea are adamant any deal would require a significant fee, conscious both of the £54m they paid Wolves for Neto in 2024 and of how the market for wide forwards has exploded.

The club’s stance has been hardened by recent deals at the top end of the game. The £117m paid for Morgan Rogers and Paris St-Germain’s £145m valuation of Bradley Barcola are seen inside Chelsea as clear benchmarks of how scarce high-level wingers have become for elite clubs. Those numbers have fed directly into their valuation of Neto.

City’s interest adds an extra layer of intrigue. A move to the Etihad would reunite Neto with former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, under whom he is understood to have forged a strong relationship.

That bond matters. Neto was among the players reported to have been frustrated when Maresca left midway through last season, and the prospect of working with the Italian again is believed to appeal to him.

Chelsea, though, hold the cards. With the market for wide forwards running hot and multiple Premier League suitors in play, the question is no longer whether there is interest in Pedro Neto – it is who is willing to pay Chelsea’s price before the window slams shut.
