Manchester United’s window is drifting towards its final days, but the noise around Old Trafford is only getting louder.

INEOS weigh up Raum move

Manchester United’s search for a left-back has not gone away, and David Raum remains firmly on the radar.

The RB Leipzig defender, who has just one year left on his contract, is still being discussed at the top level of United’s recruitment operation, according to TeamTALK. INEOS chiefs are assessing options in that position, and Raum’s situation – experienced, available, and potentially attainable at a reduced fee due to his contract – keeps him in the conversation.

Nothing is advanced, no bid has gone in, but his name has not been crossed off the list. With time running out, that alone is significant.

McCoist pushes United towards Junior Kroupi

While United’s scouts scour Europe, Ally McCoist has pointed them back towards the Premier League.

The former Scotland international believes Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi is already playing below his ceiling and has urged United to move for him, despite the forward currently being sidelined by a pre-season injury.

Speaking to talkSPORT Bet, McCoist argued that Kroupi is capable of stepping into a Champions League-chasing side.

He pointed to Bournemouth’s recent scalps at Arsenal and Newcastle as proof that their standout talents can live with the elite, before making his stance clear: in his view, Kroupi would not look out of place at Manchester United and would represent a “smart signing.”

Injury or not, McCoist’s message was blunt – United should at least “test the waters.”

Feyenoord circle for Chido Obi

While possible arrivals dominate the headlines, one of United’s younger faces could be heading out.

Chido Obi, who arrived from Arsenal in 2024, is drawing interest from Feyenoord. The Danish forward has only managed a handful of first-team appearances and has struggled to convince Michael Carrick he is ready for a regular role.

Reports in the Netherlands claim Feyenoord are keen on taking the youngster on loan, offering him the kind of senior minutes that currently look out of reach at Old Trafford.

For United, it would be a development move. For Obi, it might be the first real test of whether he can turn promise into something more substantial.

Zirkzee eyes exit as deadline looms

The biggest immediate decision, though, concerns Joshua Zirkzee.

The Dutch striker, who joined United in 2024, is now pushing for a move away before Tuesday’s deadline. The Daily Mail reports that Zirkzee expects to leave, with Carrick having made it clear he is not central to his plans.

His time at United never really ignited. The talent that excited the club on arrival has not translated into a sustained impact, and both parties now look ready to cut ties.

Interest is not in short supply. Aston Villa are said to be leading the chase within England, while Napoli, Juventus, and Roma have all been linked from Italy. United are working through the “final bits and pieces” of their window, and Zirkzee’s future sits right at the heart of that.

As the clock ticks down, United’s plans are clear enough: trim what doesn’t fit, back potential where they can, and decide whether a defender like Raum – or a gamble like Kroupi – is worth reshaping the squad for.
