Liverpool Secures Bradley Barcola as Mo Salah Successor

Liverpool have moved to fill the void left by Mo Salah with a statement deal, striking an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for winger Bradley Barcola.

The 23-year-old is set to join the Premier League club after the two sides reached what has been described as an outline agreement over a £100 million guaranteed fee, with a further £20m in potential add-ons.

Liverpool move for their Salah successor

Barcola has been Liverpool’s leading attacking target this summer as they attempt to replace the goals and creativity of Salah, who left for Trabzonspor on a free transfer earlier this month. The search has centred on a wide forward capable of high output and immediate impact; Liverpool believe Barcola fits that brief.

Talks between Liverpool and PSG had dragged, with the French champions initially demanding £145m. That stance has softened. According to The Times, negotiations took a decisive turn overnight, with both clubs finding common ground on a lower fixed fee and performance-related bonuses.

The deal is not yet fully completed, but the breakthrough has cleared the way for Barcola to head to Anfield, subject to the final details being ironed out.

Barcola pushes for the exit

The winger has been agitating for a move in search of more regular minutes. At PSG he has slipped down the hierarchy, sitting behind Desire Doue and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia in the battle for wide roles. The competition has only intensified with the recent arrivals of Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts.

With two years left on his contract in Paris, this summer offered PSG a major opportunity to cash in – and for Barcola, a chance to reset his career at a club prepared to build around him.

A place in Liverpool’s transfer history

If completed on the reported terms, Barcola will become the second-most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history. Only Alexander Isak, who arrived from Newcastle United for £125m last year, will have cost more.

He will sit alongside Florian Wirtz in the upper bracket of Liverpool’s recent recruitment. Wirtz joined from Bayer Leverkusen for £100m, with a further £16m tied to Liverpool’s success in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

Now the focus turns to the final signatures and medical checks. Once those are done, the question becomes simple: can Bradley Barcola carry the weight of replacing Mo Salah at Anfield?
