Juventus Firm on Kenan Yildiz Amid Arsenal Interest

Juventus are drawing a hard line over Kenan Yildiz – and they are doing it in bold ink.

Arsenal’s interest in the 21-year-old winger has been no secret, but every signal coming out of Turin says the same thing: look, but don’t touch.

Speaking ahead of the new season, David Ornstein reported for NBC Sports that Juventus want Yildiz to stay, despite Arsenal’s admiration. Since then, Luciano Spalletti has stepped out and underlined that stance in his own unmistakable way.

“I am perfectly relaxed, because dealing with Yildiz is easy for me,” the Juventus manager told the media. “They can offer whatever they like, I want Yildiz here and will always put him on the field.

“His future is already important, staying at Juventus, not because there are other clubs who want to spend €100m for him.”

That last line landed like a message to the market. Name your price. It will not matter.

Reports from Sacha Tavolieri in recent days painted Yildiz as a dream signing for Mikel Arteta this summer, with Arsenal said to have decided to move on the player. Arteta has been pushing behind the scenes for some time, and the club are described as ready to “pull out all the stops” to bring the Turkey international to north London.

The problem? Juventus are not even opening the door.

The club’s general manager Damien Comolli has been just as firm as his head coach. He has described Yildiz as “untouchable” and “at the centre of our project”, making it clear that the winger is not being treated as a tradeable asset, but as a pillar of their rebuild.

Comolli has openly acknowledged Arsenal’s interest, but attached a blunt disclaimer: Juventus would not sell “even if they offered €100m”.

So Arsenal wait. And watch.

James McNicholas reported for The Athletic that the Gunners are monitoring the situation, effectively lurking on the fringes of the deal, ready to react if the market unexpectedly loosens Juventus’ grip on Yildiz or makes Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid available instead.

Right now, there is no sign of that grip easing. With the transfer window entering its final stretch, Juventus continue to brief that Yildiz is going nowhere.

Arsenal may be prepared to go all in. Juventus, for now, look just as ready to push all their chips behind Yildiz and keep him exactly where he is.
