Derby County Faces Setback as Eiran Cashin Out for Eight Weeks

Derby County have been dealt a major setback with defender Eiran Cashin expected to miss around two months with a calf injury.

The 22-year-old only returned to Pride Park at the start of the month, rejoining on loan from Brighton for the rest of the season after coming through Derby’s academy and making 144 appearances in his first spell with the club.

John Eustace wasted no time throwing him back into the heart of the Rams’ defence. Cashin started the defeats against West Brom and Birmingham, playing almost the full 90 minutes in both games as Derby tried to steady themselves.

Then came the first warning sign. He was missing entirely from the matchday squad for the clash with Burnley.

“Cash is out now for about eight weeks, he's done his calf,” the Derby boss said.
