Crystal Palace Sign Axel Disasi on Loan from Chelsea

Crystal Palace have added real weight to their back line, confirming the loan signing of Axel Disasi from Chelsea for the 2026-27 season.

The 28-year-old centre-back arrives with proper Premier League mileage. Since joining Chelsea in 2023, Disasi has taken in loan spells at Aston Villa and West Ham, racking up 58 league appearances across the three clubs. He also brings international pedigree, with five senior caps for France.

For Palace, it’s another statement move in a summer of change under new manager Pierre Sage. Disasi becomes the club’s seventh signing as the French coach methodically reshapes his squad for the campaign ahead.

“I’m very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going,” he said. He also knows exactly what awaits him at his new home ground. “I know that it’s very tough to play against Palace at Selhurst Park - so I’m looking forward to being on the other side now.”

Chairman Steve Parish underlined the significance of the deal, hailing both the defender’s pedigree and the impact he is expected to make.

“We are pleased to welcome a defender of Axel's experience and calibre to Palace for the season. I look forward to seeing him in action at Selhurst Park,” Parish said.

With Disasi through the door and Sage’s rebuild gathering pace, attention now turns to the final stretch of the window. Palace fans have their defensive reinforcement. Where should the club strike next before the deadline slams shut?
