Chelsea Teenager Dastan Satpayev Joins Burnley on Loan
Chelsea teenager Dastan Satpayev is set to take his first step into English senior football with a loan move to Burnley.
The highly rated Kazakhstan winger, who only turned 18 on Wednesday, has just signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with an option for a further season, after pre-agreeing a £3.4m switch from Kairat FC in January 2025. Chelsea have now moved quickly to line up game time for him in the Championship.
Satpayev has already travelled to Turf Moor and is expected to undergo a medical ahead of Burnley’s home clash with West Ham on Sunday. If all goes to plan, he will join up with Vincent Kompany’s squad as they look to inject fresh energy out wide for the second half of the campaign.
His impending move is part of another busy loan window for Chelsea’s sprawling squad. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has completed a switch to Portsmouth, Reggie Walsh has joined Wigan Athletic, and Shim Mheuka is also close to heading out, as the club continues to clear a pathway for its next wave of prospects.
Satpayev’s challenge now is clear: prove he can handle the intensity of the Championship and return to Chelsea ready to fight for a place.
