Borussia Dortmund Eye Ibrahim Mbaye as Transfer Target
Borussia Dortmund have set their sights on one of Paris Saint-Germain’s brightest young forwards, with Ibrahim Mbaye emerging as a serious option to bolster their attack.
According to Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund have made direct contact to explore a deal for the 18-year-old winger, asking PSG about his situation and potential availability. It is an early move, but a clear one: the Bundesliga side want more firepower and see Mbaye as a talent worth pushing for.
They are not alone. Interest in Mbaye has been building across Europe, with Premier League clubs monitoring his progress. Aston Villa are among those credited with an eye on the teenager, adding an English angle to what could become a multi-league tug of war for his signature.
Mbaye already has a meaningful body of senior experience for a player his age. He has made 42 appearances for PSG, contributing four goals and four assists. Not superstar numbers yet, but enough to underline why top clubs view him as a winger with genuine upside rather than just a prospect on paper.
One obstacle is obvious: his contract. Mbaye is tied to PSG until 2028, which hands the French champions a strong negotiating position and removes any sense of urgency on their side. If Dortmund or Aston Villa want him, they will have to convince PSG that now is the right time to cash in on a teenager they have already trusted at first-team level.
For Dortmund, renowned for turning young attackers into stars, this is exactly the kind of chase that defines their transfer strategy. The question now is whether they can move quickly and decisively enough to beat Premier League money to a player whose next step could shape his entire career.
