Barcelona Sets Price for Héctor Fort as Dortmund and Real Sociedad Compete

What looked like a simple exit route for Héctor Fort has turned into a far more delicate negotiation at Barcelona.

For days, Borussia Dortmund seemed to be cruising towards an agreement for the young full-back. The Bundesliga club had moved early, held talks, and positioned themselves as the clear favourites to land one of La Masia’s latest products.

Then Real Sociedad walked into the room.

Barcelona draw a line in the sand

According to the latest from Matteo Moretto (via FCB World), Dortmund are still in the strongest position to strike a deal with Barcelona. They remain the leading candidate and, as things stand, the most advanced option for Fort’s next step.

But Barça have now put their cards on the table.

The Catalan club have set two clear scenarios for any transfer. One is a full sale: €20 million for 100% of Fort’s rights. No buy-back clauses mentioned, no shared ownership – a clean break at a premium price.

The other is a shared bet on his future. Barcelona are prepared to accept an offer in the region of €8–10 million in exchange for 50% of the player’s rights. That structure would allow them to cash in now while still keeping a significant stake in his long-term value.

Any club willing to meet either of those conditions will be in position to move the transfer forward.

Dortmund ahead, but La Real slow the deal

Earlier in the window, Dortmund looked to have a clear run. They had identified Fort, moved with intent and, for a while, it felt like only the final details were missing.

Real Sociedad’s late arrival has changed the pace.

The Basque side have been gathering information on the terms of a possible move, studying Barcelona’s demands and the structure of a deal. They have not overtaken Dortmund, but they have complicated what once seemed like a straightforward path to the Bundesliga.

Barcelona’s valuation has become central to the story. Initial indications had placed Fort’s price around €10 million. Moretto’s latest update sharpens that picture: €20 million for a complete sale, or a lower fee in that €8–10 million bracket if Barça keep half of his rights.

The framework is now clear. The question is simple: who believes in Héctor Fort enough to pay Barcelona’s price and share in the gamble on his future?
