Ross Stewart Faces Injury Setback at Swansea City

Ross Stewart is set for a frustrating spell on the sidelines, with Swansea City expecting the Scotland striker to miss their next four matches because of a quad injury.

The 30-year-old sat out Tuesday’s Championship win over Watford, having already missed last Saturday’s victory at Derby County. His Swansea career has barely begun and already it is on pause: since arriving on a three-year deal last month, Stewart has managed just one outing, a brief substitute appearance in the goalless draw with Sheffield United 11 days ago.

Now comes another setback. Stewart is expected to be absent for Saturday’s home game against Wrexham, followed by next Tuesday’s trip to Southampton, the club where he previously played. He is also likely to miss the fixtures against Burnley and Lincoln City before the international break at the end of the month.

“Ross had a soft tissue injury, not massive, but probably he can return in the international break,” said head coach Vitor Matos, offering a tentative timeline and a hint of optimism.

For Swansea, the hope is simple: get Stewart through this first interruption and finally see what their new striker can do once the season resumes.
