Real Madrid Welcome Back Key Players for Champions League

Real Madrid have welcomed back three important names just in time for Europe, even if the clock is working against them.

Aurelien Tchouameni, Thiago Pitarch and Endrick all returned to full group training on Sunday, stepping onto the grass with the rest of the squad as preparations intensify for Tuesday’s Champions League opener against Inter Milan.

The sight is encouraging. The reality is harsher.

All three have missed more than a month of pre-season work, a huge gap at this stage of the campaign. Match rhythm, physical sharpness, automatisms with teammates – they’re all lagging behind. Barring a surprise, their chances of walking straight into José Mourinho’s starting XI at the San Siro look slim.

Mourinho's Midfield Problems

Mourinho’s problems sit in the middle of the pitch. Eduardo Camavinga, Arda Güler and Bernardo Silva are all unavailable through suspension, ripping out key pieces of his midfield structure just as the European campaign begins. The coach will have to redraw his plans, adjust roles and rebuild the balance of his side on the fly after that bruising, frustrating defeat to Betis.

Against that backdrop, the returning trio’s task over the next few days is clear and unforgiving: squeeze weeks of conditioning into hours, absorb Mourinho’s demands, and pick up the patterns and pressing triggers that define his system. They may not be ready to start, but even as options from the bench, their presence could tilt a tight Champions League night.

Real Madrid’s season is already asking a familiar question: who can step up fast enough when Europe comes calling?
