Real Madrid Injury Update Ahead of Seville Clash

Real Madrid head to Seville on Friday night with their record spotless and their confidence soaring, but with a medical bulletin that still demands attention.

Three games, three wins, 10 goals scored, none conceded. The 4-0 dismantling of Malaga at the Santiago Bernabeu last weekend — with Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Arda Guler all on the scoresheet — underlined the power of Jose Mourinho's new-look side. Yet as they prepare for Real Betis, who crashed 5-2 at Levante after opening with two straight victories, the squad is not at full strength.

Tchouameni close, but Mourinho won’t gamble

Aurelien Tchouameni has yet to kick a ball this season. The French midfielder has been nursing a muscle problem, but the medical staff believe he is edging towards a return, with the Betis trip marked as a realistic target.

Mourinho, though, is in no mood to rush. With the season barely underway and Real Madrid already setting the pace, he is reluctant to take any risks with a player who will be central to the campaign’s bigger battles. Tchouameni could feature if everything checks out late in the week, but he remains a minor doubt.

Endrick chasing his first minutes

Endrick is in a similar bracket. The Brazilian youngster has missed the opening three league fixtures with a muscular issue, watching Mbappe and Bellingham light up the Bernabeu from the sidelines.

There is a genuine chance he makes a matchday squad for the first time this season against Betis. Even a cameo from the bench would mark an important step in his integration, but Real will only green-light him if the medical team are fully satisfied.

Militao’s long road back

Eder Militao’s absence stretches back to April 21, when he suffered a hamstring injury against Alaves. The centre-back is making steady progress, yet the timeline remains cautious.

Barring a surprise, Militao is not expected to return before the first international break. Madrid will not cut corners with a key defender whose athleticism underpins their high defensive line.

Rodrygo ruled out long term

Rodrygo’s situation is more severe. The Brazilian forward is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a serious knee injury in March.

The club do not expect him back until the early stages of 2027. It is a brutal blow for a player who had become a decisive figure in big games, and it forces Mourinho to lean heavily on Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and the emerging Guler in the attacking rotation.

Asencio hit by fresh setback

Raul Asencio’s start to the season has been equally frustrating, but for different reasons. The defender, who had been linked with a possible summer exit, initially missed the beginning of the campaign with a quadricep problem.

He has shaken that off, only to suffer a separate issue in the same leg. The latest injury could be serious enough to require surgery, which would sideline him for six to eight weeks. For a player already fighting for his place, the timing could hardly be worse.

Mendy out until late 2026

On the left side of defence, Ferland Mendy is a long-term absentee. A thigh injury has removed him from Mourinho’s plans for the foreseeable future.

The expectation is that he will not rejoin the first-team picture until the latter stages of 2026. That absence reshapes Madrid’s options at full-back and keeps the spotlight firmly on the alternatives tasked with locking down that flank.

Pitarch still waiting for a debut chance

Thiago Pitarch’s pre-season barely started before it went wrong. The midfielder picked up a knee injury in his first training session of the summer, cutting short any hopes of an early breakthrough.

He is now back on the training pitches, working with the ball again, but there is no clear date for his competitive return. For now, he remains a name for the future rather than an option for Betis away.

No suspensions for Mourinho to juggle

If the injury list remains a concern, the disciplinary column is at least clean. Real Madrid have no players suspended for Friday’s La Liga fixture.

So the equation is simple: an unbeaten side, a bruised but dangerous Betis, a squad still missing some heavyweights — and a chance for Madrid to show that even with key pieces out, their early-season momentum is no accident.
