Noni Madueke's Intense Pre-Season Training in Dubai

Noni Madueke is refusing to waste a single day of his first full pre-season as an Arsenal player.

Barely weeks after helping England to a third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup, the 23-year-old winger is swapping tournament pressure for desert heat, heading to Dubai for what amounts to a self-imposed training camp in the middle of his summer break.

This is not a soft reset. It is a statement.

According to reporter Simon Collings, Madueke, signed from PSV Eindhoven last summer for an initial £48.5 million, will spend the second phase of his holiday combining warm-weather downtime with an intensive conditioning programme before he reports back to London Colney. Sunloungers will be strictly optional. The real focus lies on double sessions and tailored drills.

Dubai has become the off-season playground of choice for Premier League footballers, but the city’s luxury gloss masks something more serious: elite personal training set-ups, performance specialists, and the kind of controlled environment players crave when they want to squeeze every last drop out of their bodies. Madueke is heading straight into that world.

He is expected to work with specialist coaches on sessions geared around sharpness, explosive acceleration and cardiovascular endurance. Short, violent bursts of speed. Repeated sprints in punishing heat. Long, draining runs that test the lungs as much as the legs. The kind of work that either breaks you or builds you.

Madueke has chosen the latter.

Arsenal granted him an extended break after his World Cup exploits, a deserved pause at the end of a long, emotionally charged season. Many in his position would have eased back in: a few days away, some light gym work, then a gentle return to club duty. Instead, he has carved out this final stretch of his holiday and turned it into a personal pre-season before the real one even starts.

The logic is clear. The competition at Arsenal is unforgiving.

On the right flank, Bukayo Saka remains the benchmark, intent on delivering a sharper, more explosive 2026/27 campaign after being carefully managed through stretches of last season. Around them, Mikel Arteta’s squad is stacked with attacking options, all jostling for minutes, all desperate to be on the teamsheet when the serious games begin.

Madueke knows he cannot simply arrive and hope. He has to arrive ready.

By putting in the hard yards under the Middle Eastern sun, the winger aims to report back in peak condition, not chasing fitness but setting the pace. It is the kind of decision that can tilt a manager’s thinking when the first pre-season line-ups are drawn and the early friendlies begin to shape the hierarchy.

Arsenal wanted hunger when they brought him in. Dubai is where Madueke is proving just how far he is willing to go to turn that into a starting place.
