Manchester United Reject All Offers for Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United have drawn a thick red line through Bruno Fernandes’ name on the transfer market — and they are not budging.

Senior figures at Old Trafford have made it clear they intend to reject any offer for their captain before next month’s transfer deadline, shutting the door on growing interest from Galatasaray, Juventus and AC Milan.

Galatasaray were understood to be lining up a proposal that could have climbed to 50m euros (£42.7m), confident enough in their chances to prepare a deal they felt might tempt United to the table. Instead, the response from Manchester has been blunt: don’t bother.

This is a very different stance to last summer. Back then, United effectively left the decision in Fernandes’ hands when Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal arrived with a huge offer. The Portuguese playmaker later admitted he felt “hurt” that the club were prepared to entertain the idea of him leaving.

This time, there is no such ambiguity. Club sources insist there have been no formal bids for the 31-year-old, but stress he is not for sale at any price.

Fernandes has one year remaining on his current contract, with an option for a further season, and is known to favour staying at Old Trafford. A £57m release clause in his deal has already expired, giving United even greater control over the situation. Talks over an extension, though, have yet to produce an agreement.

Fan Reception

United’s negotiating position is strong on paper, but the mood in the stands matters too. In Dublin last week, during a pre-season meeting with Leeds, Fernandes was greeted like a hero. The reception underlined what the hierarchy already knew: any hint the club are not doing everything they can to keep their talisman would go down badly with supporters.

On the Pitch

On the pitch, his influence is impossible to ignore. Fernandes set a Premier League record with 21 assists last season and is the leading contender to be named PFA Player of the Year for 2025-26 at an event in Manchester next week.

United have made their call. Now the rest of Europe will have to look elsewhere for a playmaker, while Old Trafford waits to see if words of commitment are followed by a new contract for the man who knits their attack together.
