Manchester City have drawn a hard line in the sand over Rodri – and Barcelona have just found out how hard.

The Spanish champions lodged an opening bid of around €45million (£38m) for the midfield lynchpin, only to be told in no uncertain terms that the offer was “derisory”. City want almost double that figure, valuing the 28-year-old at around €80m (£68.5m), and are prepared to act like it.
