Liverpool Pauses Negotiations for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool are hitting pause, not stop.

Talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola have been shelved for now, with negotiations stuck and the two clubs miles apart on price, according to L'Équipe. Liverpool see the 23-year-old France international as their priority attacking signing, but they are refusing to go anywhere near PSG’s current valuation.

The French champions are said to be demanding around £145 million for the former Lyon forward. Liverpool will not match that figure. For now, that’s the wall both sides keep running into.

Barcola’s own stance only adds intrigue. He is not willing to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes and would be open to a move to Anfield, a factor that quietly tilts the situation in Liverpool’s favour if PSG are eventually forced to soften.

While this standoff plays out, PSG have turned to their own rebuild. Les Parisiens are finalising deals for two new forwards, Ferran Torres (25) and Mika Godts (21), reshaping their attack and potentially crowding Barcola’s path to minutes in Paris.

That’s where Liverpool see their opening.

Rather than chase a deal on PSG’s terms, the Premier League side plan to bide their time and move in the final 10 days of the window. The strategy is clear: let PSG complete their incoming business, then test their resolve when the clock is ticking and the squad is overloaded in attacking areas.
