Liverpool's Pursuit of Bradley Barcola Gains Momentum

Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has been handed fresh momentum, with Paris Saint-Germain now prepared to entertain offers below their original sky-high valuation, according to reports in France.

The Premier League club have already moved aggressively in this window. Victor Munoz has arrived from Osasuna to sharpen the attack, while centre-backs Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes and Ronald Araujo from Barcelona have been brought in to reinforce the spine. The rebuild is taking shape – but the hole left by Mohamed Salah still gapes on the right.

Liverpool initially explored a deal for Yan Diomande at RB Leipzig, only to see the winger lean towards PSG or Real Madrid. That setback forced a rethink. The focus swung to Barcola, the France international who has slipped down Luis Enrique’s pecking order at the Parc des Princes.

For weeks, Liverpool have been in talks with PSG, aware that the Ligue 1 champions were holding out for a figure in the region of £130m (€152m). French outlet Jeunes Footeux now claims the stance in Paris has softened slightly, describing it as a “discount” and even a “gift” for Liverpool.

According to their report, PSG had long set a minimum of €150m for Barcola. Recent signings, though, have shifted the landscape. The French champions are now said to be ready to listen to offers between €130m and €140m. It is only a “relative” reduction, but one that underlines how highly the club’s hierarchy still rate the winger and their determination not to be pushed any lower. PSG, the report stresses, are under no pressure to sell and will resist any attempt to squeeze them further.

The small movement on price could be enough to tempt Liverpool into upping the tempo of their pursuit. They already know the player’s situation is changing in Paris – and they also know they are not shopping in the bargain aisle.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has added fuel to the story. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian insider said he expects the Barcola deal to “accelerate”, with Liverpool “pushing” to get it over the line.

Romano pointed to the weekend’s squad list as a clear signal. Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye were both left out entirely by PSG. Not even a place on the bench. With the French champions already stacked in attacking areas – Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ferran Torres, Mika Goots and Maghnes Akliouche all in the mix – the expectation, Romano said, is that both Barcola and Mbaye will leave.

Liverpool, he added, are not just circling. They are negotiating. They are confident. They are pushing.

Crucially, Romano claims Liverpool already have a verbal agreement on personal terms with Barcola. From Monday, he expects the saga to enter “crucial stages”, with talks between the clubs set to continue and the Premier League side keen to speed things up.

PSG may have nudged the door open. Liverpool now have to decide how far they are willing to go, and how much Salah’s successor is worth in a market where even a “discount” comes in at well over €100m.
