Ismael Saibari's Ambitious Move to Bayern: Confidence and Expectations

At his official unveiling, Ismael Saibari left no doubt about why he chose Bayern and what he expects from the move. The midfielder spoke with conviction about joining what he called a global heavyweight and a club he believes matches his own ambition.

“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said, framing the transfer as a decisive step in his career rather than just a change of scenery. “They've given me the confidence that I can develop as a player and person here.”

What drew him in was not just the badge, but the football. Saibari lit up when he described the intensity he witnessed from the Bundesliga side last season.

“They play with a lot of movement and high intensity. I saw that myself last season,” he explained. “They play very good football, it's always intense, they always look for finishes. I like that a lot.”

That relentlessness suits his own game. A natural No.10 with a taste for the final third, Saibari sees plenty of room to express himself in Vincent Kompany’s system, even if the fine details are still to come.

Asked exactly how he will fit tactically, he admitted those conversations are still pending. “I haven't discussed it [position] in detail with the coach. I've been focusing on my injury and comeback. We'll definitely talk about it soon.”

What he did make clear is where he feels most at home on the pitch.

“My favourite position is the number ten, everyone knows that,” he said. “But I can play in several positions, we always switch around during games anyway. I can also play out wide and a bit deeper.”

That versatility will appeal to Kompany as he reshapes Bayern’s attacking structure. For Saibari, the message was simple: he has joined a club built on intensity and end product, and he is ready to slot into whatever role accelerates both his recovery and his rise.
