Simone Inzaghi Excludes Key Players Ahead of Al-Hilal vs Al-Ahli

Simone Inzaghi has drawn a hard line ahead of Al-Hilal’s showdown with Al-Ahli, cutting three names from his matchday squad for the Roshn Saudi League clash at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

The Italian coach has left out Turkey’s Yusuf Akcicek, France’s Simon Bouabre and local midfielder Abdullah Al-Anazi for the third-round fixture, each for a different reason.

One name does survive the cut: English striker Wally Watkins. He is included in the squad list, but his actual involvement remains on hold. Inzaghi will make the final call after the pre-match technical meeting, once he has assessed his options and the balance of his attack.

The stakes are already rising in the Roshn League. Al-Hilal sit second with 9 points from 3 matches, three behind leaders Al-Nassr, but with a game in hand that could quickly close the gap and tilt the early title narrative.
