Hull City Condemns Racist Abuse of Robinio Vaz

Hull City have condemned what they called “abhorrent racist abuse” aimed at new signing Robinio Vaz after announcing his arrival on social media.

The Championship club revealed the 19-year-old French striker’s loan move from Roma on Tuesday, but the unveiling post was later removed after vile comments were directed at the player online.

In a strongly worded statement, Hull confirmed they are working with Humberside Police and other authorities to track down those responsible for the abuse, describing it as “disgusting”.

No individual should ever experience discriminatory abuse, and the club will provide Robinio with our full support.

Hull stressed they operate a zero-tolerance policy on discrimination and said that, over the past 24 hours, they have been in contact with the Premier League, anti-discrimination organisation Kick It Out and the relevant social media companies as part of their response.

The club urged fans to continue reporting any discriminatory behaviour they see, online or in the stands, and added: “We stand with Robinio.”

Vaz, who scored once in Serie A last season, joins on a season-long loan from Roma, with Hull holding an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
