Turkish journalist Emre Kaplan has revealed that the Super Lig champions are prepared to offer the Manchester United captain a salary on par with Victor Osimhen’s – the highest earner at the club – as they push to test United’s resolve over their Portuguese playmaker.

Fernandes has yet to agree fresh terms at Old Trafford, and Galatasaray sense an opening. They have identified the 29-year-old as a priority target and are building a financial package big enough to make even a Premier League captain think twice.

Osimhen’s deal currently sets the ceiling in the Galatasaray dressing room. Matching that level for Fernandes would represent a major statement from a club already used to flexing its muscles in the transfer market.

“Galatasaray are prepared to offer Bruno Fernandes the same salary as Osimhen, who is presently the top earner in the squad,” he said. “They will also present whatever amount is necessary for the transfer fee. However, I believe that the reports circulating in the English media are being utilised in negotiations with United.”

So the intent is real, the numbers are serious, but the politics of the deal are complex. United hold the contract, Galatasaray hold the ambition, and somewhere in between sits a player yet to sign on for the next chapter in Manchester.
