Franco Mastantuono's Stunning Hat-Trick on Fiorentina Debut

Franco Mastantuono needed one night in Venice to turn a loan move into a statement.

On his Serie A debut for Fiorentina, the young forward on loan from Real Madrid hit a stunning hat-trick as Vincenzo Italiano’s side surged into a 2-4 lead away to Venezia on matchday four. Three goals, one whirlwind spell, and a new name for defences across Italy to worry about.

From 1-0 down to 1-2 up, powered almost single-handedly by their new arrival.

The home side, stunned by the quick-fire double, never quite recovered their composure. Fiorentina grew in confidence, moved the ball with authority and tightened their grip on the match as the minutes ticked by.

Mastantuono, though, wasn’t finished.

As the second half wore on and Venezia chased a way back, space began to open up. In the 84th minute, the 19-year-old produced his most composed moment of the night. Receiving the ball inside the area, he drove into the six-yard box, gliding past the advancing goalkeeper with a sharp individual move before calmly slotting home for 1-4. Hat-trick complete, scoreboard emphatic.

It was the kind of goal that belongs to a player brimming with confidence: close control under pressure, ice-cold decision-making a few metres from the line, and the awareness to finish the job without fuss.

Four minutes later, in the 88th minute, his night was over as he left the pitch to be replaced, having already done more than enough. Three goals on debut, two long-range rockets in less than two minutes, and a late solo effort to cap it off. Fiorentina had their comeback, Venezia had no answers, and Real Madrid will have taken note.
