Ferran Torres Joins PSG from Barcelona: A New Chapter

FC Barcelona have confirmed the departure of Ferran Torres, announcing an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the Spanish forward’s transfer to the French champions.

The deal ends Torres’ four-and-a-half-season spell at Camp Nou, a period in which he became a regular presence in the Barça attack and a familiar figure to the home crowd. Barcelona marked the move with a public message of appreciation, thanking the 24-year-old for his “dedication throughout the four and a half seasons in which he has defended the Barça shirt” and wishing him “the best of luck in this new stage of his professional career.”

For Torres, that new stage comes in Paris, at a club built on big ambitions and bigger expectations.

“I’m delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain,” he said, outlining his excitement at the move. The forward also made a point of naming the figures behind the transfer, adding: “I’d like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible.”

A fresh chapter for the player. Another attacking weapon for PSG. And a clear sign that the French side have no intention of slowing down their pursuit of silverware.
