Doku and O'Reilly Missing from Manchester City's Training Ahead of Porto Clash

Jeremy Doku and Nico O'Reilly were both missing from Manchester City’s final training session before their Champions League trip to Porto, casting early doubt over their involvement in Portugal.

The pair sat out team training as City sharpened their plans for Tuesday night’s group-stage clash. Their absence was notable, and with no confirmation yet from the club, questions over their availability will rumble on until Enzo Maresca faces the media.

Doku has yet to feature in the Premier League this season, his campaign still waiting for a starting gun while City have raced out of the blocks without him. O'Reilly’s situation is more recent: he was withdrawn from the starting XI ahead of Saturday’s win over Coventry after suffering a back problem, a late change that did nothing to derail City’s perfect domestic start.

Three games. Three wins. City have opened their Premier League defence with maximum points and a familiar authority, and they now look to transfer that control onto the European stage.

The stakes rise in Porto. So does the scrutiny on Maresca’s squad list.

The head coach is expected to deliver a clearer update on both Doku and O'Reilly in his pre-match press conference, when City will learn whether two of their attacking options travel as weapons or watch as spectators.
