Barcelona Unveils New Squad at Spotify Camp Nou: A Night of Emotion and Ambition

Barcelona unveiled their new-look squad at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday evening, wrapping the 61st Joan Gamper Trophy in a wave of emotion, expectation and unmistakable noise.

The full first-team group stepped out, joined by La Masia youngsters who have spent pre-season training with Hansi Flick’s side, as the crowd warmed up for the meeting with Al Ahly. Each name drew its own reaction, but three produced a different level of roar.

  • Rodri.
  • Anthony Gordon.
  • Karim Adeyemi.

The marquee arrivals walked into a wall of sound, with Rodri’s name in particular crackling around the stadium. The midfielder’s decision to choose Barcelona over Real Madrid has already turned him into a symbol as much as a signing, and the fans let him know it.

Flick’s first Camp Nou address

Then came the moment for the coach.

This was Hansi Flick’s third squad presentation as Barça manager, but his first in front of a packed Spotify Camp Nou. He took the microphone, switched into Catalan, and immediately tapped into something deeper than tactics or transfers.

"I'm very happy to be here. When I lost my father, I received incredible support from the Barça family. You were there for my family. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much."

The stadium responded with a long, heartfelt ovation. The noise rose again as Flick turned from gratitude to ambition, outlining the standard he expects from this group and this club.

"We have a great team thanks to Deco and Laporta. We're ready to fight for every trophy. We need all the Barça fans. Together we're stronger. Visca el Barça i Visca Catalunya."

It was a clear message: the bar is set at silverware, and the coach wants the supporters right on the front line with him.

Raphinha steps up as captain

If Flick set the tone from the bench, Raphinha did it from the dressing room.

The Brazilian winger, now acting as Barcelona’s provisional first captain, addressed the supporters for the first time in his new role. He didn’t start with himself. He started with an absent teammate.

"Good afternoon, Cules. I want to wish Roony a speedy recovery. He's going through a difficult time. He's a spectacular kid and a great player. He can count on us for whatever he needs,"

he said, sending a public show of support to Roony Bardghji as he battles injury.

The message landed. So did his salute to the players who have just returned to the club as world champions with Spain.

"I want to congratulate the world champions. They've done a spectacular job. Be proud. You'll be written into the history of world football,"

he added, folding their triumph into the club’s own story.

From there, Raphinha turned to the fresh faces in the squad, formally welcoming the new signings and pausing to explain what the shirt means to him.

"Wearing this shirt is a huge responsibility, but it's one of the most beautiful things I've experienced in my life. It will be the same for the new signings. We'll be available to help them and make them feel at home."

On a night built around introductions and reunions, that line cut through the loudspeakers as clearly as any. Barcelona showed off their squad, their signings and their stars — but they also drew a line in the sand: this season is about trophies, identity and the weight of a shirt that still demands the very highest.
