Bajcetic Closes In on Celta Vigo Move as Liverpool Midfield Thins Out

Stefan Bajcetic is moving closer to the Anfield exit, with Celta Vigo now advancing talks over personal terms as they push to take the midfielder to La Liga.

Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano reported on X that “Celta Vigo are closing in on personal terms agreement with Stefan Bajcetic to join from Liverpool,” a line that has only hardened the feeling that the 21-year-old’s future lies away from Merseyside.

Bajcetic is under contract at Liverpool until 2027, but any deal now looks likely to involve some form of early termination or negotiated departure to get it over the line. From Liverpool’s side, there is little sense of resistance. The club are not fighting to keep him.

Injuries have bitten hard. Loan spells have failed to restart the surge of promise that once surrounded him. The midfielder who briefly looked like a long-term piece of Liverpool’s engine room has seen his path narrowed to a sliver.
