Arsenal’s pursuit of Kenan Yildiz has run straight into a brick wall in Turin.

Juventus have made their stance unmistakable: the 21-year-old is going nowhere.

The Turkish forward, already one of the brightest young attackers in Europe, comes off a standout season in which he played 47 times across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and supplying 10 assists. Spalletti draws a line

On the eve of Juve’s Serie A opener away to Frosinone, Luciano Spalletti was asked about the swirl of rumors linking Yildiz with a blockbuster move to north London. He didn’t dodge the subject. He went straight at it.

“I am perfectly relaxed, because dealing with Yildiz is easy for me,” Spalletti told reporters, smiling as he did so. “They can offer whatever they like, I want Yildiz here and will always put him on the field. He's a perfect lad to talk to, he's mature, and knows he doesn't need to rush anything.”

That last line cuts right to the heart of it. Juventus do not just see a saleable asset; they see their future.

Yildiz’s rise since arriving from Bayern Munich’s academy in 2022 has been rapid and ruthless. He tore through the youth ranks, made the senior step look routine, and played his part as Juventus lifted the 2023-24 Coppa Italia. Every time the stage got bigger, he grew with it.

Spalletti, never one to undersell a talent he believes in, pushed the point further when asked about the kind of fees being mentioned.

“His future is already important staying at Juventus, not because there are other clubs who want to spend €100m for him,” he said. “We are all convinced that we can show the total potential of Kenan, and he is a potential phenomenon of football. The fans are convinced too.”

When a coach talks about a “potential phenomenon” and a club hierarchy nods along, negotiations tend to stop before they start.

A player in tune with Turin

Part of Yildiz’s hold on Juventus goes beyond numbers. He has tapped straight into the club’s identity.

The forward has repeatedly spoken of his admiration for Alessandro Del Piero, a name that still echoes around the Allianz Stadium. He has even borrowed the legend’s trademark tongue-out celebration, a small gesture that lands heavily with a fanbase steeped in nostalgia.

That bond matters. It makes the idea of swapping Turin for London feel distant, however big the offer. Yildiz is not just playing for Juventus; he is trying to write his own chapter in a story he grew up admiring.

The club have moved to protect that story. A lucrative five-year contract, signed earlier this year, puts Juventus in complete control of his future. No release clauses, no urgency to sell, no financial pressure forcing their hand.

That security is vital after a sixth-place league finish left them in the UEFA Europa League rather than the Champions League. In a season that already carries questions, they have decided Yildiz is a cornerstone, not a bargaining chip.

Arsenal look elsewhere as attack reshapes

From Arsenal’s side, the attraction is obvious.

Mikel Arteta’s squad has been aggressively strengthened this summer with Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United, and Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge all arriving to deepen a title-winning group.

Up front, though, the picture is shifting. Leandro Trossard has departed, and uncertainty lingers around Gabriel Martinelli’s long-term future at the Emirates. Yildiz, with his creativity between the lines and eye for goal, fits the profile of the next attacking pillar.

Arsenal have shown they are willing to spend to stay ahead. Reports of a huge bid being prepared for Yildiz only underlined that intent.

Juventus’ response has underlined something else: intent can meet resistance.
