Worthing Signs Striker Jordan Young from Torquay United

Worthing have moved to sharpen their attack with the signing of striker Jordan Young from National League South rivals Torquay United for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old arrives with a proven record at this level. Since joining Torquay from Yeovil Town in October 2024, Young has hit 35 goals in 88 appearances, a return that made him one of United’s key threats in the final third.

Worthing manager Adam Hinshelwood made no secret of how central he expects Young to be in his plans, highlighting not just his finishing but his all-round threat from set-pieces and open play. Hinshelwood described Young as a player with “great dead-ball delivery” who can both score and create “from out of nowhere”, underlining the belief that the forward can change games on his own.

Torquay, meanwhile, have protected their longer-term interests. The club confirmed that the agreement with Worthing includes a provision ensuring United retain a “significant financial interest” in any future transfer involving Young.
