Woltemade on Spalletti’s Aura and Growth Potential

Woltemade has only just arrived, but he already talks about his new manager as if he has been working with him for years.

The German striker, on loan from Newcastle to the Bianconeri after a summer move, sat down with DAZN to reflect on the first months of his Italian adventure and, above all, on life under Luciano Spalletti.

“When I met Spalletti for the first time with my family, we all thought one single thing: aura,” Woltemade said. “He has a huge aura, he seems calm, but he is very clear in what he wants both on the pitch and off it.”

That first impression has shaped everything since. Spalletti, the highly respected Tuscan coach, did not spend weeks easing the newcomer in. He went straight to work.

According to Woltemade, the coach immediately honed in on specific details of his game, insisting on improvements and staying close to him in training. The striker described a hands-on approach that leaves no room for doubt.

“He is helping me a lot and immediately began working closely with me to help me improve. I am certain I will become a better player under him,” he said.

That certainty matters. It colours the way Woltemade talks about his current situation: not as a temporary stop, but as the ideal setting to sharpen his tools. He feels he has landed in the right dressing room, at the right time, with the right guide.

For now, the message from the forward is simple. He has the environment, he has the coach, and he believes he has the path to become the player he wants to be under Spalletti’s watch.
