Tegan Bowie Leaves Hibernian for Parma Calcio

Tegan Bowie’s Hibernian story is over. The next chapter takes her to Italy.

The 22-year-old winger has completed a permanent move to Serie A side Parma Calcio after the Italian club activated a release clause in her Hibs contract. The fee remains undisclosed, but the cost to Hibernian’s forward line is obvious enough.

This is not a fringe player slipping quietly out the back door. Bowie, a product of the Hibs academy who left for Celtic before returning to Edinburgh in 2023, had grown into one of the pillars of Joelle Murray’s side. Back in green and white, she didn’t just settle; she drove standards.

Her numbers from the 2024-25 title-winning campaign tell part of the story: five goals and 10 assists, a direct hand in 15 goals in a season where Hibs climbed back to the summit. Across her time with the club she made 101 appearances and scored nine times, but those raw figures don’t quite capture the way she stretched games, dragged full-backs into uncomfortable spaces and gave Hibs a constant outlet on the flank.

So it was no surprise that Murray’s reaction carried a tinge of frustration alongside pride.

"I'm disappointed to see Tegan leave under a clause that was in her contract from summer 2025," the head coach told club media, laying bare the reality that this was a departure forced by paperwork, not preference. The release clause was triggered; Hibs had to let one of their key players walk.

The coach did not hide her admiration either. "She's grown and developed massively during her time at the club, both as a player and a person. I wish her nothing but success as she takes on this new challenge in a new country with a new team. Hopefully she can continue that incredible personal growth next season and beyond."

That growth has been visible. Bowie left Hibs as a talented academy prospect; she returns and departs again as a champion, a wide player with end product and maturity, ready to test herself in a league that has become a serious destination for ambitious players in the women’s game.

For Bowie, the move is both reward and risk: a leap into a new culture, a new language, a new style of football. She sounded every bit the player who knows what she is leaving behind.

"I've gotten to experience some of my favourite memories with this team and being able to have the freedom to express myself on the pitch has helped me in my development," she said, a nod to a club that allowed her to play with personality and take responsibility in big moments.

Hibs now face the challenge of replacing not just her output, but her presence in a dressing room that has just come through a title-winning season. Parma, meanwhile, are betting that the winger who lit up the Scottish game can bring that same spark to Serie A.

The clause has been triggered, the deal is done, and the door has closed behind her at Hibs’ training ground. What she does with this Italian adventure will say plenty about where her career goes next.
