Strasbourg Signs Chelsea Attacker Omari Kellyman
Strasbourg have completed the permanent signing of Chelsea attacker Omari Kellyman, in the latest piece of business between the two clubs under the BlueCo umbrella.
The 20-year-old moves to Ligue 1 with a buyback clause included in the deal, marking the 20th transfer between Chelsea and Strasbourg since they came under the same American ownership group. This move is expected to be only the start of a busy week of traffic between London and Alsace.
The pressure on Chelsea’s bloated squad has been building, and Strasbourg are again the release valve. Deivid Washington is set to follow Kellyman to France in a similar arrangement, with the young striker also lined up for a switch to the Stade de la Meinau.
The pipeline may not stop there. Either midfielder Dario Essugo or winger Mykhailo Mudryk is expected to head to Strasbourg on loan, as BlueCo continue to shuffle developing talent and fringe players across their network.
Kellyman joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in 2024 for £19m, arriving as one of the more eye-catching attacking prospects of his age group. His time at Stamford Bridge never really started. A run of hamstring injuries stalled his progress and he failed to make a first-team appearance.
Now he gets a reset in France, while Chelsea keep a close eye on his development with that buyback clause in their pocket.
