Sevilla Targets Ellyes Skhiri as Frankfurt Looks to Exit

Sevilla’s late-summer rebuild has found a new focal point in Germany. With the clock ticking on the transfer window and the Spanish season looming, the Andalusian club are weighing a move for Tunisia international Ellyes Skhiri, as Eintracht Frankfurt look for a way out before his contract winds down.

According to Marca, Sevilla’s board are juggling several operations at once. The headline mission is clear: an out‑and‑out striker. Talks continue for Ruben Vargas, the preferred option to spearhead the attack. Other forwards remain on the table, but the recruitment drive is no longer confined to the front line.

German reports link the 29‑year‑old midfielder with a switch to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, with his current deal at Frankfurt due to expire at the end of next season. The Bundesliga club have already started to move on. Sky Sport Germany report that Skhiri has effectively been frozen out after Frankfurt reinforced their midfield with Rafael Onyedika and turned their attention to trimming the squad.

For Sevilla, the interest in Skhiri runs alongside negotiations for Giorgi Kochorashvili. The Georgian is being lined up as a central midfield signing, while Skhiri is viewed as a complementary piece, a profile that could add depth and balance to the engine room rather than serve as its sole pillar.

Skhiri brings pedigree. He featured for Tunisia at the last World Cup, starting all three group-stage matches and showcasing the kind of tactical discipline and work rate that appeals to clubs looking for reliability in the middle of the park.
