Reiss Nelson's Potential Exit from Arsenal Amid West Ham Interest

Arsenal have started to clear the decks, and Reiss Nelson is firmly on the list of potential departures.

The winger, now 26, is the subject of active talks between Arsenal and West Ham over a move that would take him into the Championship, with the Hammers exploring a deal as they gear up for a promotion push.

Nelson has spent the last two seasons living life on loan rather than at the Emirates, first at Brentford and then at Fulham. He returned to north London this summer, but Mikel Arteta has no place for him in his plans for the coming campaign, and Arsenal are working to find him a new home.

There is interest from abroad as well. A Portuguese club, now managed by Marco Silva, are in the frame. Silva knows Nelson well, having taken him to Fulham two seasons ago, and that existing relationship could yet shape the winger’s thinking if a concrete proposal lands on the table.

Arsenal’s preference is clear: they want a permanent sale this summer. They have also fielded enquiries about another loan, and if they do agree to send Nelson out temporarily again, the Gunners hold an option to extend his contract by 12 months to protect his market value.

Jesus, linked with Napoli, has been priced at up to £20million, a figure Arsenal believe reflects both his pedigree and the need to balance the books. At this stage, though, no formal offer has arrived from the Italian club.
