PSV Sign Sano and Kostic for Major Reinforcements

The corridors at Anna TopSupport in Eindhoven told the story long before any announcement from PSV. One after another, two very different careers walked through the same door – and both now look set to wear red and white.

First, just after 10:00 on Wednesday morning, Kodai Sano stepped out of the car. Twenty-two years old, one of the Eredivisie’s most eye-catching young midfielders at NEC, and now on the brink of a major move. PSV are poised to pay just under €15 million for him, a statement fee for a player still at the start of his European journey.

Two hours later, the tone changed.

Filip Kostic, 33, arrived at the same facility. A veteran of Serie A and the Bundesliga, a free agent for a month after his contract at Juventus expired, now seemingly ready to bring his experience and left foot to Eindhoven. No transfer fee this time, but the intent is just as loud.

For PSV, this is not just another day in the window. It is the day their summer plan comes into sharp focus.

Bosz gets his reinforcements

Peter Bosz has been clear about what he wants: quality that can perform immediately, and depth that can sustain a title push in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie and beyond. On Wednesday, the club moved decisively toward giving him both.

PSV’s transfer protocol is well known by now. Potential signings report to Anna TopSupport for their medicals before any pen touches paper. Sano and Kostic following that route within hours of each other leaves little room for doubt about where this is heading.

Sano brings legs, energy and upside. Kostic brings crosses, experience and a track record at the highest level. Different profiles, same message: PSV are arming Bosz for another serious run.

Stewart’s summer takes shape

Technical director Earnest Stewart had already set the tone earlier in the window. PSV paid €13 million to prise Sven Mijnans away from AZ, strengthening the heart of midfield with a player proven in the league and still with room to grow.

Add Sano to that mix and PSV are investing heavily in their engine room. Add Kostic on a free, and they gain a seasoned wide threat without breaking the fee structure.
