Milan Pursues Morocco's Zakaria El Ouahdi for Right-Back Position
Milan are lining up a move for Morocco international Zakaria El Ouahdi as they search for a new right-back this summer.
Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri are closely studying the Genk defender as a potential replacement for Atekami, who is on the verge of completing a transfer to Olympique Lyon.
El Ouahdi, born in 2001, has already drawn strong interest elsewhere. PSV Eindhoven tracked him earlier in the window, with several reports highlighting coach Peter Bosz’s wish to bring the Moroccan to the Eredivisie.
Genk have made their stance clear. They value El Ouahdi at between 13 and 15 million euros and are holding firm, showing no intention of softening their position or pushing him towards the exit.
Milan have not yet submitted an official bid, but the intent is there and growing. If the deal advances, El Ouahdi would become the second major Genk talent to jump to a European heavyweight this summer, after Konstantinos Karetsas joined Borussia Dortmund in a transfer worth around 35 million euros.
