Marcus Rashford's Future at Manchester United: Arsenal and Barcelona Interested

Marcus Rashford’s Manchester United future is not completely ring-fenced, with senior figures at Old Trafford refusing to shut the door on a late exit before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline – and Arsenal and Barcelona both circling.

TEAMtalk understands Arsenal are actively tracking Rashford’s situation as they scour the market for a new left-sided forward, while Barcelona have kept open lines of communication with the England international’s camp for weeks.

United plan with Rashford – but won’t slam the door

Rashford has been brought back into the fold at United after a turbulent spell and has been handed the number nine shirt. He featured off the bench in their opening-day defeat at Hull City, a clear signal that he is once again part of the first-team picture.

Inside the club, the plan remains straightforward: they are preparing for the season with Rashford in the squad and want to keep him. United’s stance is to retain him, not to sell.

But the market has a way of testing convictions.

Sources have told TEAMtalk that United are fully aware of the level of interest in the 26-year-old and, while a departure is regarded as highly unlikely, it has not been ruled out entirely. A serious proposal, at the right level and at the right moment, could force a rethink – especially if United can line up a replacement in attack.

That calculation becomes more delicate with Joshua Zirkzee heading to Fiorentina. Losing one forward is already a significant shift. Losing two in the final days of the window would demand careful, perhaps risky, decision-making.

Arsenal’s left-side rebuild points towards Rashford

Arsenal’s interest is real and growing.

Having sanctioned Gabriel Martinelli’s move to Al-Hilal, the Gunners are working urgently to reinforce their left flank. They have explored several options, including Real Madrid’s Endrick, as previously revealed by TEAMtalk, but the profile they want – top-level, proven, able to slot straight into a title-chasing side – keeps dragging them back to one name.

Rashford.

Arsenal have admired him for a long time and, according to TEAMtalk, a late move remains firmly on the table. The London club are monitoring developments closely and are prepared to act if the door opens even slightly at Old Trafford.

With the deadline looming and Arsenal determined to strengthen that side of their attack before Tuesday night, any hint of movement from United could trigger a rapid response.

Barcelona keep the line warm

Barcelona have not stepped away either.

Rashford impressed during his loan spell at the Nou Camp last season, and the Catalan club’s hierarchy remain strong admirers. They have stayed in contact with his camp and, as TEAMtalk understands, a return to Barcelona is not off the agenda.

Their initial plan had been to go in a different direction. Julian Alvarez was a major target, but a move for the Atletico Madrid forward before Tuesday is now viewed as highly unlikely. That setback leaves Barcelona reassessing their options in the final stretch of the window.

And when they do that, Rashford’s name inevitably comes back into focus.

For now, United have him back in their plans and are acting as though he will stay. But with Arsenal and Barcelona both hovering, and the window ticking into its most volatile phase, Rashford’s future remains one of the most intriguing storylines of the final days.
