Manchester United Negotiates Joshua Zirkzee Loan to Juventus

Manchester United are deep in negotiations with Juventus over a deal that could see Joshua Zirkzee leave Old Trafford on loan with an option to buy this summer.

The Italian club have moved quickly for the Dutch forward after their pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani collapsed, with The Sun reporting that Zirkzee has now emerged as a leading target in Turin. His representatives are understood to have responded positively to Juventus’ proposal, clearing a major hurdle in the talks.

United, for their part, appear ready to cut their losses. They are prepared to approve a loan move including a purchase option set at around £30 million, despite having paid roughly £36.5 million to bring him to the club in 2024. Inside Old Trafford, there is a growing feeling that this valuation reflects his current standing after a stop-start spell in Manchester.

Zirkzee has drifted to the fringes of the squad. Last season he started only five Premier League matches under Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick, never quite securing the trust required to lead the line consistently. At 25, with his career at a crossroads, interest in him has intensified across Europe, but Juventus now sit in pole position.

The Turin giants had been close to landing France international Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain after his underwhelming loan at Tottenham. The deal stalled when Juventus and PSG failed to find common ground on the financial package. The search for a centre-forward did not stop; it simply changed direction.

Zirkzee quickly became the alternative. A forward with technical quality, mobility and Serie A experience, he fits the profile Juventus want to spearhead their attack at the Allianz Stadium. He has scored just nine goals in 75 appearances for United, a modest return that has fuelled doubts in England but not deterred the Italians.

Crucially, Italian football is familiar territory for him. Zirkzee previously spent a season on loan at Parma and two seasons with Bologna, adapting to the tactical demands and slower tempo of Serie A. That background makes him a less risky bet for Juventus than a forward arriving cold into the league.

The player is open to the move. United are ready to listen. Juventus need a striker. All that remains is for the numbers to align on a deal that could restart Zirkzee’s career in a league he already knows how to navigate.
