Liverpool Pursue Wingers Amid Real Madrid's Stance on Endrick

Liverpool’s search for attacking firepower has stretched all the way to the Bernabeu – but Real Madrid have slammed the door on any move for Brazilian prodigy Endrick.

The club’s plan for the final stretch of the window is clear: two new wingers and, if possible, an extra centre-forward. The recruitment team have been working on both fronts at pace.

Barcola still the priority, Mbaye stalls

Bradley Barcola remains the headline target. Liverpool have had personal terms in place with the PSG winger for some time and still see him as the key wide addition before the deadline.

For weeks it looked as though Barcola’s teammate Ibrahim Mbaye would follow him to Anfield. Mbaye has also agreed personal terms, but negotiations with PSG have hit a wall.

French journalist Fabrice Hawkins reports that PSG’s €70m valuation has put Liverpool off. The club, under Andoni Iraola, do not want to go beyond €50m, and that gap has forced a rethink at ownership level, with FSG now steering the search in a different direction.

Minteh becomes the alternative

That pivot has brought Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh to the top of the list alongside Barcola.

Liverpool have already tested Brighton’s resolve twice, the latest offer climbing to around £60m. Brighton have held firm so far, but with Minteh having agreed personal terms with Liverpool, there is a growing expectation among sources that a third bid in the region of £65m–£70m would finally draw a yes from the south coast.

While the winger negotiations play out, Liverpool have also been exploring a solution through the middle.

Liverpool call Madrid over Endrick

With Alexander Isak the only fit senior striker available to Iraola while Hugo Ekitike recovers from a ruptured Achilles – the Frenchman is not expected back until around the turn of the year – Liverpool have sounded out opportunities for a central forward.

That led them to Real Madrid and Endrick.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Liverpool contacted Madrid to explore a deal for the 18-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Lyon.

“The story around Endrick over the last two or three days is actually true,” Romano said, outlining how several clubs have tried to prise the Brazilian away.

Roma and AC Milan have already spoken with the player’s camp to gauge whether a loan could be possible. Aston Villa also picked up the phone two weeks ago. Each time, Madrid’s reply was blunt.

According to Romano, the answer from the Spanish giants was “no chance, no chance, no chance, no doors open for Endrick.”

Liverpool then entered the conversation. They asked about a loan with a buy option, and even raised the idea of a permanent transfer built around a sizeable proposal. The response did not change.

Romano reports that president Florentino Perez and head coach Jose Mourinho have taken a firm stance: Endrick stays.

Madrid’s stance: Endrick to fight for No.9

“There is nothing in terms of chances as of today,” Romano explained. Real Madrid want Endrick in their squad, wearing the No. 9 shirt, and competing for minutes at the Bernabeu.

The only caveat sits far down the line. If by late December, around Christmas, Endrick is still not playing regularly, Madrid could reopen the door to another loan, similar to his spell at Lyon last season.

For now, though, Liverpool’s enquiry has been rebuffed. The Brazilian will remain in Spain, ready to fight for his place.

Liverpool, meanwhile, push on with their original plan: close a deal for Barcola, break Brighton’s resistance over Minteh, and decide whether they can find that extra striker elsewhere before the window slams shut.
