Arsenal Renew Interest in Endrick Amidst Martinelli's Expected Departure
Arsenal have gone back to Real Madrid over Endrick, refusing to let the Brazilian’s name drift off their radar.
The Premier League champions have made fresh contact with the La Liga giants this week, sounding out the situation of the 20-year-old forward as they line up attacking reinforcements ahead of Gabriel Martinelli’s expected departure.
Endrick has been one of the dominant storylines of Madrid’s summer. Fresh from a productive loan spell at Lyon, the young striker reported back to Valdebebas with his future wide open. Another loan move was strongly suggested, his name quietly circulating in boardrooms across Europe.
Then José Mourinho stepped in. The Real Madrid boss publicly shut the door on any exit before the transfer window closes, insisting his young goalscorer will stay put. Even so, the rumours have not died down. They have simply changed tone.
This week, they acquired a familiar voice. According to TEAMtalk, Real Madrid sources have confirmed that Arsenal have renewed their interest in the former Palmeiras prodigy, lodging new enquiries about a possible deal.
It is not the first time the Gunners have tried to pry open that particular door. During previous talks with Madrid over Vinícius Jr, Arsenal’s hierarchy also asked about Endrick’s availability, testing the waters around a player many still label a “wonderkid”.
Those conversations ultimately went nowhere. Yet Arsenal have clearly not walked away. With Martinelli heading for the exit and the champions intent on refreshing their forward line, Endrick’s name is back on the recruitment agenda.
Mourinho insists he is going nowhere. Arsenal are pushing to find out how true that really is.
