Victor Osimhen: The Key to Arsenal's Premier League Title Ambitions

Dwight Yorke believes Victor Osimhen is the missing piece that could tilt the Premier League title race decisively towards Arsenal.

The former Manchester United striker, speaking to Reviant, painted a vivid picture of a centre-forward built to bully English defences, insisting the Galatasaray star has exactly the kind of raw, unsettling presence that top-flight centre-backs hate facing.

“Victor Osimhen to Arsenal would be huge. That would really cement them as favourites,” Yorke said. He had been studying footage of the Nigerian and came away struck by the chaos Osimhen creates. “I was actually looking at some clips today and he’s all action, isn’t he? All arms and legs, a little bit unorthodox, but he gets the job done.”

Yorke did not dress it up. Osimhen is not about elegance. He is about impact.

“He’s not the most elegant player you will ever see, but you will find him very awkward to play against,” Yorke explained. “He’ll be a bit of a nightmare for these defenders because he’s a little bit old-fashioned in that sense.”

That “old-fashioned” tag, in Yorke’s eyes, is a compliment. Osimhen brings height, reach and relentlessness – a throwback centre-forward with modern intensity.

“He’s six-foot, he’s lanky, he’s decent in the air, he takes his opportunities, and he works hard,” Yorke said, reeling off the traits that, stitched together, make a nightmare assignment for any defender. “As a centre-forward, if you have those attributes, defenders are not going to look forward to playing against him.”

For Yorke, the conclusion is simple. Land a striker like that, and the title picture changes.

“If that were to happen,” he added, “then I would say Arsenal would definitely run away with it.”
