RB Leipzig Targets Matias Fernandez-Pardo Before Deadline

RB Leipzig are ramping up their late-window business as they move to land Matias Fernandez-Pardo before the deadline.

Sky Germany report that Die Roten Bullen have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the Belgium international, clearing a major hurdle in the deal. The next step is convincing Lille.

Leipzig have put a proposal on the table worth around €32–33 million, including what are described as realistic bonuses, in an effort to tempt the French club into a sale. It would represent a significant outlay for a 21-year-old still at the start of his career, but one the Bundesliga side clearly believe is justified.

Fernandez-Pardo has produced 12 goals and 11 assists in 71 appearances for Lille, numbers that hint at versatility and creativity rather than an out-and-out poacher’s profile. For a club that thrives on developing young talent and flipping it into elite-level performers, the fit is obvious.

And Leipzig are not stopping there. They are also closing in on a loan move for Christopher Nkunku from AC Milan, aiming to bring the former fan favourite back to Saxony. The plan is bold: add Fernandez-Pardo’s potential and Nkunku’s proven quality in one late surge before the window shuts.

If both deals cross the line, Marco Rose will walk into the autumn with a very different set of attacking weapons.
