PSG Relieved as Hakimi Avoids Serious Injury Ahead of Clasico

Paris Saint-Germain left Brest with three points and a headache. By Monday, at least, one of those problems had eased.

Achraf Hakimi, who limped off during PSG’s narrow 1–0 win over Stade Brest in Ligue 1, has escaped serious injury, the club have confirmed. The right-back’s departure on Sunday had raised immediate fears of a hamstring setback that could have ruled him out of a crucial stretch of the season.

Luis Enrique admitted after the game he had no clear idea how bad it was. The images of Hakimi clutching his thigh told their own story, and for a few hours PSG were braced for bad news.

It never came.

On Monday, the club published a medical update on their official channels, explaining that Hakimi had suffered “a minor injury to his right thigh” in the match. PSG added that the Moroccan defender will receive treatment for two days, after which he will undergo a further medical examination.

The message was clear: concern, but no alarm.

The timing matters. PSG face Olympique Marseille next Sunday in the Ligue 1 Clasico, a fixture that never arrives quietly and rarely forgives weakened line-ups. For Enrique, the prospect of going into that game without one of his most influential outlets on the right flank would have been a major tactical blow.

Instead, the early diagnosis keeps Hakimi on course to feature. Barring any setback in the coming days, the 25-year-old should be available for selection when Marseille visit the capital.
