In a squad built to win immediately, that leaves Camavinga staring at a role he has never come to Madrid to accept – a bit-part option, used sparingly, if at all.

From the club’s perspective, the situation is clear. This is a high-value asset approaching what could be his peak market price. A sale now would bring in serious money, ease the wage bill and help finance the new arrivals Mourinho wants. Madrid, as a business, would welcome that outcome.
