Tchouameni left playing catch-up

This is not a clean, definitive verdict on Tchouameni. It’s a fitness call.

The French midfielder has not played a single minute of Madrid’s pre-season due to muscular discomfort. While his teammates have built rhythm, sharpness and understanding in Mourinho’s new system, Tchouameni has been stuck on the sidelines, watching the battle for his position unfold without him.
