Millwall Set £15m Price for Femi Azeez as Brighton Pursues Transfer

Millwall have slapped a £15m price tag on winger Femi Azeez as Brighton push to get a deal done before the transfer window closes.

The Premier League club, whose interest first surfaced via BBC Sport, have already tested Millwall’s resolve twice in recent weeks with offers totalling just over £10m. Both bids were rejected. Both underlined how far apart the clubs still are.

Brighton are understood to be around £5m short of Millwall’s valuation, but they have not gone away. Azeez is high on their list heading into Tuesday’s deadline and, crucially, the Nigeria international is keen on the move to the Amex Stadium.

Millwall’s stance is clear: they are ready to let the 23-year-old take the next step in his career, but only if someone meets their number. Until then, they hold the line.

The situation has already bled into team selection. Azeez has been left out of Millwall’s last three matches, a notable omission given his impact last season: 11 goals and 11 assists in 35 league games, form that earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

It is a remarkable rise for a player Millwall picked up from Reading in 2024 for around £1m. That deal now looks like one of the Championship’s smartest pieces of business, with Azeez entering the final 24 months of his contract and his value peaking.

There is interest closer to home too. Fellow Championship side Wrexham are believed to be monitoring the situation, sensing an opportunity if the Premier League move stalls. But Azeez’s priority is clear. He wants the top flight.

So the stand-off continues. Millwall have their figure. Brighton have their target. With the clock ticking towards Tuesday, someone will have to blink.
